Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms around. Unfortunately, many businesses make the mistake of not utilizing it as well as they should be.
We have 5 effective strategies you can use to increase your number of Instagram followers. You could also try automatic likes for Instagram, read more here.
Make Your Instagram Feed Attractive
Have you noticed how the photos in a successful Instagram account all fit into one theme, and have the same general aesthetic and look?
Getting this set up isn’t as hard as it may seem at first, although it does take some careful planning.
Step 1: Determine what you want
Check out the people you are following on Instagram. Who are your favorites? Scroll through your main feed and see what pops out. Do you like muted tones? Or do you prefer lots of colors? These kinds of questions will help you decide on the overall aesthetic that you would like your Instagram feed to have.
Step 2: Plan ahead
Would you like to know what the secret is to have an Instagram account that is perfectly styled? Planning. There are many Instagrammers who take dozens of photos in one “shoot” and then post them throughout the upcoming week.
Pre-planning all of your images not only helps you stay consistent but also makes things easier for you when your life starts getting hectic during the middle of the week.
Step 3: Provide your images with a single consistent look
To maintain consistent branding, you may want to consider either not using a filter or always use the same one. Just choose one look and be consistent.
Canva.com is my favorite tool for editing all of my images to use the same filter. Other great tools include the apps ColorStory, VSCO, and Afterlight. They all can be found in the App Store and downloaded from there.
Post Meaningful Content
To be a successful Insta-Yogi doesn’t necessarily mean you just have to post photos of you doing advanced yoga poses (unless that is what you really want to do).
Post photos with a purpose instead. You want your feed to have substance and be attractive.
Don’t try being too perfect. Instead, show who the real you is – the person who is behind-the-scenes instead of the ideal poses that are seen all of the time on Instagram.
Be real in all of your descriptions and keep things relevant. Posting Rumi quotes or photos of doing handstands have been way too many times already.
Don’t hesitate to mention your blog posts, services, and products on a regular basis – otherwise, people won’t know who you are or what you do.
Instagram should be used to bring followers to your email list and your website. If all you do is post pretty photos without talking about what you have to offer, you will lose out on the opportunity to connect with prospective customers who are willing and eager to purchase from you or come to your retreats or workshops.
If you really want to grow your Instagram followers, you need to post on a regular basis and stay consistent.
I recommend that you post 1 to 2 photos per day. For example, once in the morning and then once again at night, Just post one photo at a time. You don’t want to spam your followers.
In the native app, Instagram doesn’t provide scheduling options yet. You need to post in real-time from your phone or use a third-party scheduling tool (such as https://later.com or http://schedugr.am).
The best time to post is when most of your followers tend to be online. However, don’t overthink this. Just post at times that work for you.
Use Hashtags Wisely
When you use hashtags, it puts your posts into collections of photos that also have used the same hashtag. That makes your content findable, searchable, and ready to get new yogis inspired.
Everyone who clicks on that hashtag will see all of the videos and photos that are using the same hashtag. This a great way for you to build Insta-relationships and make connections with other yogis.
The following are Some Tips for Using Hashtags Effectively:
Use relevant hashtags that are used by your audience.
You can get better results with less popular hashtags. That is because you won’t get lost in all of the clutter of all of the thousands of other photos that are using the same hashtags.
Only post one hashtag with an original post and then post a comment immediately after you post with up to 30 hashtags.
Be creative with your hashtags. Think outside of the box. Go a little crazy and invent your own.
Engage and Connect
In order to increase your number of followers, you must engage on a regular basis on Instagram. It isn’t sufficient to simply have an attractive feed and post beautiful photos. Find other Instagram accounts that appeal to you and like them, comment on their posts and follow them, to start building your own community.
Follow others and comment on a regular basis on other people’s photos – they will start noticing you. Whether they decide to follow you back or not will depend on your most recent photos and your profile. People rarely look beyond the most recent photos.
Engage with your followers regularly. Reply whenever they leave comments.
